Chances are, you’ll never forget this photo or this day:

But the sad sad sad truth is that a shocking number of veterans participated in the Capitol insurrection on January 6. Many of them were the target of a far-right disinformation campaign that led them to believe the democracy they signed up to defend was under attack and the presidential election was stolen.

One of the most important missions we have as VoteVets is to reach veterans who were not at the Capitol that day, but have fallen prey to disinformation campaigns.

Veterans talking to veterans. We have to get them back. We’re not leaving any vet behind in this effort.

But we cannot do it alone:

Elections are important. Legislation that helps veterans is important. Bringing our fellow vets back from a disinformation campaign that leaves them isolated from loved ones and disconnected from reality may be our most important mission this year.
