Hope to see you this Thursday, 2/10 at 7pm for our February For the Love of Democracy Happy Hour! We’ll be at Matchbox in Pentagon City. Love is definitely in the air, and if you’re looking for love, you can count on the fact that at least everyone at our events are for certain Democrats. Who knows, you just might meet that special someone.
One important thing you should know: the campaign account of Governor Glenn Youngkin tactlessly attacked a 17-year-old high school teenager on Twitter over the weekend.
Here’s a politics roundup on what’s happening in the General Assembly:
- GOP delegates are advancing a bill that would ban abortion after 20 weeks. HB 1274.
- GOP delegates passed a bill to stop VA’s minimum wage increase to $15 an hour. HB 296.
- GOP delegates are advancing a bill that would eliminate protections for transgender students. HB 988.
The Republicans are systematically stripping away the progress we’ve made here in Virginia. These are dangerous developments.
Contact your legislators and tell them you oppose these measures!
