HONOLULU, HI – “As a former Republican elected official, I was shocked and appalled that two prominent Democrat elected officials have been accused by the U.S. Attorney of taking large sums of cash, gifts, and special perks as bribes for years in exchange for preferential legislative treatment. We will be monitoring the investigation closely to understand how widespread this corruption is in our government. This is more proof that the system is rigged by Democrats against the average person in Hawai‘i. The Democrat monopoly that controls every corner of government in Hawai‘i must end! Since our first elected official, Prince Kūhiō, Hawai‘i Republicans have always believed in transparency and accountability in government, and the people of Hawai‘i deserve better!” said Lynn Finnegan, State Chair of the Hawai‘i Republican Party.
