We need to
take action on climate change now.
Extreme winter weather is again hitting communities across the country not
prepared for freezing temperatures, ice, and snow. Last summer, historic
high temperatures in the Pacific Northwest caused roads to buckle under
the stress of the heat. These historic weather events are getting worse
and more frequent.
To address the ever more frequent and serious climate disasters, Pramila
is fighting for frontline communities and climate resiliency. Two weeks
ago, she introduced the Climate Resilience Workforce Act. In response to
massive, expensive efforts to clean up and rebuild damaged homes and
infrastructure, Pramila’s bill would invest in a skilled workforce capable
of responding to and preparing for the destructive impacts of climate
change.
But we know this is an uphill battle. Fossil fuel companies, their
lobbyists, and their corporate PACs don’t want to see investments in
fighting climate change. The GOP doesn’t even want to acknowledge that
climate change exists. If we’re going to pass any legislation to address
the climate crisis it’s going to take a major fight.

you chip in $3 to support Pramila’s fight to act on climate
change? It’s going to take a movement to overcome the interests of
corporations and the extreme GOP.

Disaster recovery work is a multi-billion dollar industry, and it's often
dangerous. Yet the workers on the frontlines often lack basic protections.
If we create millions of good-paying, union jobs and center the very
communities disproportionately impacted by climate disaster, we can
finally build back better, greener, and stronger.
In solidarity,
