Hi Friend,

Transgender athlete Lia Thomas has received a green light to participate in women’s Ivy League Swim Championships at Harvard next week. Thomas, who has dominated women’s collegiate swimming competitions this season, previously competed for the University of Pennsylvania men’s team as Will Thomas.

The NCAA turned its back on female athletes.

Last month, female swimmers and their parents raised concerns about fairness and personal privacy. But the NCAA ignored their pleas, instead reaffirming its commitment to transgender inclusion at the expense of female athletes.

The NCAA then handed over responsibility for determining eligibility for women’s events to the governing body of each sport.

New USA Swimming rules don’t guarantee equal opportunity.

USA Swimming’s new rules, issued in the wake of the NCAA’s announcement, require athletes who want to compete in the women’s division to demonstrate testosterone levels of less than 5 nmol/L for a period of at least thirty-six (36) months. Most females (including elite athletes) have testosterone levels of around 0.12 to 1.79 nmo/L.

It is unclear whether Thomas can meet the new USA Swimming guidelines, but the Ivy League says Thomas can compete at championships.
