I know that I’m not your typical Senate candidate. I’m not a Career Politician, a Washington insider, or a wealthy billionaire. I’m just a humble guy who wants to serve America any way that he can.

I’m Mike Durant. You might recognize my story from the movie Black Hawk Down. I was a Black Hawk pilot in Mogadishu in 1993. I was captured and held as a Prisoner of War for 11 days. Through my 22 years in the Army, I learned the value of service and the power of sacrifice.

I believe in America and all that it stands for. I believe in the American dream, our American values, and that America is the best country in the world. I will do anything I can to make sure that our communities, our people, and our borders are safe.

I’m not running for Senate for the power or the prestige – I’ll leave that to my opponents. I’m signing up for one more tour of duty to serve you.

I’m running against the very definition of Career Politicians. These are people who have been in DC for countless years, cozying up to the insiders and staying distant from their constituents. They promise to change things – but they’ve already had that chance.

It’s time to send an outsider to shake things up. I’ll fight for you. I’m not afraid to put it all on the line.
