John,
In the wake of the failure of critical voting rights legislation, there’s new bipartisan support developing on Capitol Hill for key election reforms, including updating the Electoral Count Act, protecting election officials, and more.
This is huge. A bipartisan group of over a dozen senators has come together and is taking steps to move these meaningful election reforms forward. While there’s no substitute for a sweeping voting rights bill, Issue One is working hard to ensure that these senators create the best bill possible to strengthen our elections, protect election officials and poll workers, and prevent election sabotage.
But we can’t do it without you. The senators working on these key reforms need to hear from all of us as they decide what should be in the bill. Can you call them today?
Tell them:
The effort to move key election reforms forward is critical. Any bill put forth by the bipartisan group working on these reforms must provide election funding to the states, protect election officials and poll workers around the country, and update the Electoral Count Act. These measures are crucial to strengthening our elections.
If you’re from one of the states below, call your senator’s office at the number provided. If you’re not, call Minority Leader McConnell’s office.
Senator Susan Collins (R-ME): 202-224-2523
Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT): 202-224-5251
Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC): 202-224-6342
Senator Rob Portman (R-OH): 202-224-3353
Senator Roger Wicker (R-MS): 202-224-6253
Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY): 202-224-2541
This is one of the most important calls we’ve asked you to make. Thank you for taking action to save our democracy.
Onward,
Ethan Rome Chief of Strategy and Program, Issue One
