My parents immigrated here from Peru.
My dad sold hot dogs and drove a taxi to make ends meet.
My brothers and I were raised in a one bedroom apartment.
But we never gave up.
Thanks to their hard work, my father’s union, and community support, we went from living in poverty to a life in the middle class.
