John -
In one week from today, the Senate Banking Committee will vote on our slate of five candidates for the Federal Reserve. Then they head to the full Senate for a vote.
With the Senate narrowly split between Democrats and Republicans, the votes will likely be close. That’s why we need to drive as many messages to our senators as possible to ensure that these nominees are confirmed by the full Senate.
We feel pretty confident with our odds, John, but we can’t leave anything up to chance. Your senators need to be on board, which is why we’re asking if you can step up today and send a message to their offices.
→ Here’s what you’re sending ←
“Hi, my name is John and I am your constituent from Philadelphia. I am writing to ask the Senator to confirm President Biden’s nominees to the Federal Reserve Board.
We need experienced leaders like Lael Brainard, Sarah Bloom Raskin, Lisa Cook, and Philip Jefferson at the Federal Reserve. These are people who care about families and communities like mine, take climate change seriously, and can tackle real issues we’re facing like racial and economic injustice.
President Biden made the right choice by picking these highly qualified nominees who will bring experience, diversity, and expertise to the Fed. Please confirm these Fed nominees when they go before the Senate.”

After the vote in the Banking Committee on February 15, the full Senate confirmation will likely take place in March.
While some Republicans are busy spreading lies and attacking the nominees for taking climate and economic justice seriously, our movement must step up to counter their misinformation.1
With your help, we can secure these nominees and continue to elevate the responsibility of the Federal Reserve to mitigate climate risks and center equity as we work for a just economic recovery from the pandemic.
We’ll keep you posted about the outcome of the vote and other ways you can support.
