On Friday afternoon, Republicans voted to censure two members of their caucus, Reps. Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, for their involvement with the Select Committee on the January 6 Attack.

As part of the resolution, Republicans declared the investigation to be “persecution of ordinary citizens engaged in legitimate political discourse.”

Republicans will stop at nothing to avoid accountability for the violence that members of their party incited that day. Now, it seems they are also leaving the door open for future violence by attempting to normalize bloodshed within the walls of the Capitol.

Team, in a post-January 6th political landscape, this is what is at stake every time we go to the polls.
