Dear John,

We don’t just talk about Black history in February. We support Black women running for office and making history all year.

Why? Our government is still not reflective of its people. Black women make up less than 5% of Congress, statewide elected offices, and state legislatures. That’s why we endorse candidates like Lucy McBath (GA-6) and Lauren Underwood (IL-14).

Last year, A Woman’s Place endorsed both of their campaigns and now both congresswomen are making history in the House, inspiring young black girls across the country to take up space in places that have long told them that they don’t belong, while introducing legislation for critical issues like gun violence and maternal health.

We are getting ready to make our first round of 2022 endorsements. Donate now!

The contemporary political landscape is filled with progressive women who are running for elected office up and down the ballot, who possess a true vision of equality for this country's future. A Woman's Place seeks to support their efforts by providing financial resources to embrace this tongue-in-cheek idea of what a woman's place should be.

We help put women where they belong: positions of political leadership throughout all levels of government.
