John, International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women is coming later this month on November 25!

On this day in 1960, three female activists (the Mirabal sisters) were assassinated in the Dominican Republic for opposing their country’s dictator, becoming popular symbols of feminist resistance. This official UN holiday began in honor of them and now is a call to action for eliminating violence against women all around the world.
