Hi there -- Last week marked a huge legal win for Washington state -- and another defeat in court for President Donald Trump. In Spokane on Thursday, a federal judge struck down Trump’s so-called “conscience rule.”
If implemented, the impact of the new regulations would have been devastating and far-reaching. They would have violated the Affordable Care Act by allowing health care professionals to discriminate against women, LGBTQ+ Washingtonians, and others seeking medical care. Our rural and low-income patients with fewer health care providers to turn to would have suffered the most.
This marks our 25th consecutive victory against the Trump administration. We have not lost a case against him yet and don’t intend to start now.
We will continue to fight for the health care rights of all Washingtonians.
