Hey John,
The Black AIDS Institute (BAI) is dedicated to ending the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the Black community. They believe in complete freedom for Black people by eradicating systemic oppression so that we can all live the long, healthy lives we deserve.
Yesterday marked the 23rd annual National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day – a day to recognize the need to increase HIV education, testing, community involvement, and treatment among Black communities.
BAI has been on the ground, doing the work since 1999, and for the last 23 years, they have been mobilizing and educating Black Americans about HIV/AIDS treatment and care.
We are proud to be raising money directly for BAI in honor of National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day to fight for complete freedom for Black people by eradicating systemic oppression in our healthcare system as it pertains to HIV/AIDS.
BAI is doing essential work for our communities when it comes to HIV/AIDS -- will you support them by making a donation of $5 or more in recognition of National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day?
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
Discrimination against Black people is deeply ingrained in our country's systems, processes, and mindsets. This is why it's critical that we increase awareness, spark conversations, and get involved in the effort to end HIV in Black communities.
Racism is at the core of why Black people have been hit the hardest by HIV compared to any racial other groups in the U.S., and health justice is undoubtedly a racial justice issue. BAI is revolutionizing the HIV response by centering Black experiences and perspectives to ensure that Black people can live their fullest, healthiest lives with dignity, care, and respect.
We all have a role to play in ending HIV/AIDS in the Black community. That's why we need to continue to demand inclusion in medical and scientific advances, access to updated health information, prevention, and treatment options.
This National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, will you join us in supporting the Black AIDS Institute and their efforts to end HIV in Black communities in our lifetime by donating a small amount?
In love and solidarity,
Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation
