As a former Democratic nominee in NY-01, I'm proud to be endorsing Kara Hahn today.
I’ve been working to flip NY-01 for the better part of the last five years, and I can honestly tell you we're about as close as we've ever been to doing just that. Still, I know how much work lies ahead in order to build a winning campaign, and Kara needs our support now in order to compete and win. Kara's progressive values are the closest to my own and represent our best option to win this seat. The fate of the House majority and, in turn, our Democracy are depending on it.
With its new district lines, Long Island's 1st district is now one of just a small number of Republican-held districts that Biden won in 2020. That makes this a must win for Democrats in order to hold the House in 2022 and keep extreme Republicans like Kevin McCarthy and Marjorie Taylor Greene from taking over.

Having run this race myself, I know for a fact that a lot of GOP money will be spent attacking Kara, lying about her record, and mischaracterizing her plans for Long Island.
