Illegal Aliens On City Boards In Denton?! People who serve on city boards in Denton are no longer required to be U.S. citizens—or even lawful residents. Erin Anderson reports [[link removed]] the city council voted to remove a requirement for residents serving on city boards and commissions to be registered voters, allowing noncitizens to participate.

Council members then rejected an amendment that would have limited the positions to lawful residents. Critics say this opens the door to illegal aliens serving on boards that impact policy in Denton.

“When I found out about this, I was appalled,” Denton resident Vickie McGovern told Texas Scorecard. “Sadly, not enough people pay attention to local politics, which is how this crazy agenda keeps getting pushed through.”

Last May, the Dallas City Council proposed allowing noncitizens to serve on boards and commissions created by its city charter. The change required a charter amendment, which city voters rejected 65-35 percent.

New York City has gone a step further than Denton, allowing noncitizens to vote in municipal elections. More than 800,000 lawfully present noncitizens and undocumented “dreamers” will be able to influence city government. Articles published throughout Texas and the nation are proclaiming Texas hospitals are rapidly reaching capacity with unvaccinated coronavirus patients and that it is now a “ pandemic of the unvaccinated [[link removed]].”

But Sydnie Henry reports [[link removed]] that information collected by a non-profit citizens group contradicts that narrative. The Texas Freedom Coalition made several requests to various sources for information pertaining to data collected regarding COVID-19 hospitalizations in the unvaccinated versus the vaccinated.

“Our responsive records have proven that Texas Public Health Agencies and Texas Hospital Systems are not collecting or reporting data on the vaccination status of individuals hospitalized in the State of Texas, and that, in fact, they don’t know what the numbers actually are,” said the organization [[link removed]] in a report issued this week. New Round Of Amnesty Republicans Endorsed? After being rebuffed [[link removed]] by state senate candidates late last month, Americans for Prosperity has shed their LIBRE Initiative label – with its explicit pro-amnesty messaging – in their latest round of endorsements. While the previous endorsements were made under the joint names of AFP and LIBRE, Brandon Waltens reports [[link removed]] the latest round makes no mention of the latter.

On Monday, the group announced its support for the re-election of State Reps. Dustin Burrows (R–Lubbock) and Andrew Murr (R–Junction). AFP also gave its endorsement to Janie Lopez (HD-37) and Ellen Troxclair (HD-65) in their open seat races.

AFP has doubled down on their organizational position on amnesty for illegal aliens, saying they support “creating an earned pathway to legal status for Dreamers who pass a background check, register with the government, and are either employed and/or in school.”

Only Troxclair responded to inquiries about the endorsement, saying she did not seek it, that she was opposed to amnesty, and that she wasn’t aware of the organization’s position. It is not yet known if she – or the others – will accept or reject the endorsement.

Last month, senate candidates Pete Flores, Mayes Middleton, and Tan Parker all rejected the group’s support [[link removed]], saying they did not solicit the endorsement and did not want it. Quote-Unquote
