In a minute, I’ll ask you to add a critically important donation to my campaign—a race that will decide Senate control. But first, can I have just a moment of your time to explain why your support today is so important?

Coming out against the filibuster was a risky decision. I knew the moment I supported abolishing the filibuster, right-wing groups would start flooding Ohio with cash and slamming our campaign with nasty attacks.

But it was the right thing to do. What’s the point of having a Democratic majority if we can’t accomplish anything? I’m proud of my decision and I won’t let anything stand in the way of delivering for hardworking Ohioans.

But let me be clear: this makes us the GOP’s top target. They’re already spending upwards of $40 million (with millions more on the way) to make sure Ohio’s open Senate seat stays red.

Abolishing the filibuster is the right thing to do, but it makes us especially vulnerable to right-wing attacks. That’s why I’m personally asking you to split a donation between my campaign and Defeat Republicans today to help us fight back against the GOP and flip Ohio blue so we can make progress for Ohioans and all Americans.
