It’s no secret that the modern economy is changing. And between rampant
wealth inequality and the skyrocketing cost of higher education, working
and middle-class folks are getting the short end of the stick.

But all too often, even Democrats lose focus on one group — rural
Americans.

Rural America has seen jobs offshored, plants shutdown, and downtowns
hollowed out. We need to bring new jobs, manufacturing, and industry to
help rebuild these communities.

leave their hometown to get a good job. That’s why I’m fighting alongside
leaders like J.D. Scholten, running for Iowa’s 4th, to embolden rural job

We already know what works. Just this year, I spent time in Jefferson,
Iowa, working with the Jefferson Initiative — a plan to make sure workers
in Iowa have a place in the digital economy.

There’s incredible talent across rural America, but not enough investment
in the infrastructure. People shouldn’t have to move and leave the
communities they grew up in to pursue the American Dream. And if we work
together, they won’t have to.

I’m so proud to work alongside rural champions like J.D. Scholten to scale
initiatives like these, train young workers, and lift everyone up. But we
can’t do it alone.

economic opportunity and digital prosperity to rural America. Will you

Silicon Valley, and other centers of technology, must answer the nation’s
