Monday Nature Mystery

We are pleased to announce the winner of our Monday Nature Mystery, Gregory Luce! Please email us your snail mail address and preference for a hat or tote bag to: [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]?subject=Monday%20Nature%20Mystery%20Winner!)

Congratulations to Gregory Luce for correctly identifying the female Ruddy Duck. According to All About Birds ([link removed]) , Ruddy Ducks lay big, white, pebbly-textured eggs—the largest of all duck eggs relative to body size. Fossils of this duck species have been found in Virginia from 11,000 years ago!
