“In the fourth quarter of 2021, just 1.3% of Cheney’s $2-million haul came from individual in-state donors. The sitting congresswoman’s candidacy attracted 32 resident donations totalling $25,830.
But for Hageman, Equality State residents willing to personally donate were relatively more important. The Cheyenne attorney scored $188,850 from 150 in-state individual donors, which pencils out to 43% of her total quarterly contributions. Overall last quarter, Hageman raised $7 from Wyoming residents for every $1 Cheney took in.”
Hageman passes $1 million raised for House race against Cheney
Harriet Hageman, Republican candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in Wyoming, today announced that she has raised more than $1 million for her race against Rep. Liz Cheney less than five months after announcing her campaign. The amount includes fundraising totals for 2021 which she will file with the Federal Election Commission later today. In 2021, Hageman raised more than half of her funds from within Wyoming, a figure that Cheney will not come close to matching.
Hageman was born and raised on a ranch outside of Fort Laramie, Wyoming, where she learned the value of hard work, integrity, loyalty, family, and community. She has spent much of her legal career fighting against the federal government, protecting water rights, property rights and constitutional rights. Hageman has been endorsed by former President Donald Trump, and beat Cheney in a state central committee straw poll in January by a lopsided 59-to-6 margin. Between September and December 2021, she visited all 23 counties in Wyoming, traveling over 9,000 miles and meeting with voters all over the State.
Cheney has abandoned Wyoming’s interests, and spends her time as Democrat Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s hand-picked vice chair of the illegitimate January 6th Committee, which is solely focused on tearing down President Trump and his followers, while also deflecting attention from Biden’s disastrous administration. The Wyoming Republican Party has voted to censure Cheney, and recently voted to not recognize her as a member of the party.
“Wyoming deserves to be represented by someone who cares about Wyoming, not someone who is consumed by her own personal war with President Trump,” Hageman said. “I have been to all 23 counties in Wyoming, and I know that the people are desperate for a change. We only get one House seat, and we can’t waste it on someone from Northern Virginia who does all of Nancy Pelosi’s dirty work to distract voters from Joe Biden’s disastrous administration. I am standing for Wyoming First and America First values, which is something that Liz Cheney cannot say and will not do.”
Hageman has the support of many who once were with Cheney, including Lynn Friess, a former Cheney donor and widow of longtime GOP supporter Foster Friess.
“Harriet Hageman has Wyoming in her DNA, and as our representative, she will always reflect the views and values of Wyomingites,” Friess said. “I’m excited to support Harriet, and I will be grateful to call her the Congresswoman from Wyoming in November.”
As part of the more than $1 million she has raised, Hageman will show in her FEC filing that she raised $745,381 in 2021 after she announced her candidacy on September 9. That includes $443,460 in the fourth quarter of 2021. Her report will show $381,163 cash on hand at the end of 2021, although the actual current amount is higher because of funds raised since the end of the year. More than half of the money raised in 2021 came from within Wyoming.
Harriet Hageman statement on the RNC censure of Liz Cheney
The Republican National Committee has approved a resolution censuring Rep. Liz Cheney and Rep. Adam Kinzinger, the two hand-picked “Republican” members of Nancy Pelosi’s sham, partisan January 6th Committee.
Harriet Hageman, Wyoming Republican candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives, today issued the following statement:
“This is further proof that Liz Cheney has completely lost her ability to be effective in Congress for the people of Wyoming. She doesn’t have allies in the Republican Party, and the Democrats only see her as a temporary and useful tool to achieve their partisan ends. She spends every minute of every day engaged in her personal vendetta against Donald Trump, and that is not why Wyoming sent her to Congress.
“Wyoming deserves a representative who fights the battles that are important to the people of our state. The Biden administration is waging an all-out war on our way of life and the ability of our citizens to prosper and support their families. We need someone who will fight Joe Biden and stand up for property rights, constitutional rights, and personal freedoms, and who will push against the relentless overreach of the federal government. When I am Wyoming’s congresswoman, I will always stand for what’s important to the people of this state.”
