Hi there,
Special Olympics athletes are heading to Washington (virtually)!
On Wednesday, hundreds of Special Olympics athletes, families, and supporters from 47 states and DC will be meeting virtually with Members of Congress to advocate for inclusion and the urgent need for federal support for people with intellectual disabilities (ID).
Before “Capitol Hill Day'' officially kicks off, we want to know what you think: Do you support federal funding of Special Olympics?
YES >> [link removed]
NO >> [link removed]
Special Olympics athletes are heading to Congress to speak up about the significant stigma they face, particularly when it comes to health care and education. No one should be denied health care, or a chance to learn, just because they are a bit different. But people with ID face that sort of discrimination every single day.
So thanks for sharing your opinion with us. Your answer will help us show lawmakers that people want Congress to support our mission.
Thanks for being a part of something special,
The Special Olympics Team
