Dear Friend,

Biden hasn’t even named his Supreme Court choice yet, but Republicans --
including Senator Mitch McConnell, Tucker Carlson, and Representative
Lauren Boebert -- are already attacking Biden’s nominee as radical and
unqualified.(1,2)

Biden can't allow Republicans to push him into nominating a conservative
to the Supreme Court in a misplaced attempt at bipartisanship. The Court
is in need of another Sonia Sotomayor, and we need to let Biden know that
the grassroots support is behind a real progressive!

The fact that Republicans are already calling Biden’s nominee
“unqualified” when the only thing known at this point is that she will be
a Black woman is flat-out racist.(3)

In 2016, Justice Sotomayor perfectly stated why the Supreme Court will
benefit from better reflecting us all by saying, "A different perspective
can permit you to more fully understand the arguments that are before you
and help you articulate your position in a way that everyone will
understand."(4)

In just a few years, the Trump majority has moved to gut Roe v. Wade.(5)
The Court struck down COVID-19 protections and mandates.(6) It has
weakened unions, protected political donors, and limited the Voting Rights
Act.(7) All of this goes against how polls show, over and over, that the
American people want more protections and freedoms. We can’t afford to let
the GOP win this fight against seating a progressive Black woman on the
Court before it’s even begun.

It is critically important that President Biden swiftly nominate a strong,
progressive Black woman who can lead the Supreme Court and our country in
a new direction.
