Hi John -- Traveling to small towns on Sioux City Sue, I've been hearing from person after person in Iowa's 4th: rural communities are being left behind by politicians in Washington. We need a renewed commitment to our rural communities and concrete investments that will create good-paying jobs to get our economy back on track. That's why I'm excited about the work that Rep. Ro Khanna, whose district includes part of Silicon Valley, is doing in Congress to advocate for tech companies to invest right here in Iowa. As he said: "The digital revolution is one that every community should and can participate in." If you believe we need innovative policies so all communities can share in the prosperity of America's tech economy, please add your name to Rep. Ro Khanna's petition. Ro believes in rural America. He even convinced technology leaders from Microsoft, LinkedIn, Ripple, and others (including me!) to join him in Iowa at Jefferson's History Boy Theatre to learn more about efforts to bring good tech jobs to rural communities. Rather than leave rural communities behind and outsource tech jobs to India and China, Ro believes companies should invest in our people and our infrastructure here. He's also helped bring a tech training center and software company office space to Jefferson called The Forge, to connect Iowans with educators and remote internships in Silicon Valley. As the Carroll Times Herald said, "It's possible Ro Khanna did more for Greene County, Iowa, in 16 hours on a past weekend than Steve King has in 16 years." I agree — and that's why I'm urging you to support Rep. Ro Khanna's efforts to create Silicon Prairie so all Americans can share in the prosperity of our innovation economy. Thank you, -J.D.
