Friend --
This weekend the "Grand Old Party" continued its disturbing trend of embracing extremism and division, and abandoning democratic principles.
Last Friday, the Republican National Committee took the unprecedented step of censuring their own Representatives Adam Kinzinger and Liz Cheney. Why? For their membership on the Jan. 6th Committee. But what was even more disturbing was their declaration that the Jan. 6th Committee was "persecution of ordinary citizens who engaged in legitimate political discourse."
I'm asking for your support today to tell the GOP that in America, violence will never be legitimate political discourse.
Stand against political violence [[link removed]]
Gerry and our staff were there on Jan. 6th. The whole world was watching as it unfolded. The people who attacked the Capitol were directed by former President Trump and his allies to prevent the certification of a free and fair election. Ten people, the majority police officers, died as a result of the events of that day, and hundreds more were injured. No matter what lies the GOP's officials repeat, the facts of January 6th and the responsibility Republicans bear will never change.
The Trump GOP know they're guilty, and they are scared. We cannot let them reverse course and re-write history - we have to continue towards accountability, win in 2022, and show them that no matter our politics, violence is never acceptable. And we need your help [[link removed]] .
Defend democracy in 2022 → [[link removed]]
If we lose our majority in the House in 2022, Republicans will certainly abolish the Jan. 6th Committee and complete Donald Trump's cover-up. And he made it clear this week that if he wins the White House in 2024 he will pardon everyone being investigated for their participation in the violence of Jan. 6th. So please, contribute today to keep our Democratic majority in 2022 and remind our neighbors what "legitimate political discourse" really looks like. [[link removed]]
Thank you for your support.
