On January 6, 2021, Donald Trump incited an insurrection on the Capitol by telling his supporters to stop the 2020 election results from being certified. An armed mob vandalized our Capitol, attacked police officers, and tried to overturn the results of a free and fair election.

Over one year later, Trump has not only downplayed January 6, but is now openly talking about pardoning those involved if he's elected in 2024 and making it clear he has no regrets. And his Republican allies have followed him every step of the way.

The RNC chairwoman recently called January 6 “legitimate political discourse" and the investigation a "Democrat-led persecution of ordinary citizens." Kevin McCarthy and House Republicans have refused to cooperate with the investigation and plan to shut it down completely should they retake the majority. That's unacceptable.

The people responsible for January 6 must be held accountable, team. In Congress, Seth will defend our democratic system of government and support the House Select Committee on the January 6 attack.
