I am honored to have received the San Francisco Chronicle’s endorsement for our campaign for State Assembly!
This endorsement means so much to me (not least of all because my parents have been 30+ year subscribers!). To be recognized as a viable, first time candidate is a testament to our bold platform of merging science and policy, but also a testament to you – your support, encouragement, and enthusiasm has galvanized a city.
Here are some highlights from the San Francisco Chronicle’s article:
“Where his competitors tend to speak in generalities while discussing policy solutions, Mahmood brings detailed, data-oriented plans, centered on cutting the NIMBY red tape that lords over local housing and homelessness planning, and empowering businesses to work toward climate solutions like carbon capture.”
“He rightly views California as a laboratory for progressive policy experimentation — and thinks of his plan to provide monthly $500 basic income payments to Californians earning less than $75,000 annually, funded in part by a carbon tax, as a pilot for universal basic income at the federal level.”
