You want to see someone's priorities as a legislator, follow the money!

Friday's Republican proposed budgets CUT $200 million from our local schools, and 11 other districts, who prioritized student safety and required masks during the peak of the Delta wave last August. Regardless of what you think of the policy, it's vindictive and petty, and will only HARM student's future success.

Also, despite offering a grand "compromise" that was to end 20+ years of Republicans refusing to fund affordable housing, this year's budget includes a nearly 30% cut ON TOP OF the 50% cut that was agreed to last year. So, while rents are skyrocketing due to a lack of affordable housing, the Republicans proposed another 75%  CUT from affordable housing in just two years.

Meanwhile, my appropriation projects and bills would:

✔️ INCREASE funding for Education

✔️ INCREASE funding for Healthcare

✔️ INCREASE funding for Affordable Housing

✔️ INCREASE funding for Roads and Transportation

✔️ INCREASE funding for Veterans

DECREASE Government Waste

DECREASE your Taxes

Based on estimates from the newest Republican drawn maps, my race will be the closest contest anywhere in the state. It looks like I'll be running against a Republican incumbent which means we'll have an opportunity in November to win in a district Trump won by a few hundred votes.

Elections have consequences, but so does poor governing. Remember this and let's hold them accountable in November.
