[1]Mandela Barnes for Wisconsin
I have 15 minutes of free time this morning. I know it doesn't sound like much. But I have been busy traveling the state of Wisconsin, and a gap in my schedule like this doesn't happen too often.
So, as I'm taking a moment to reflect on this campaign, I thought it would be worth telling you a bit more about my decision to run in Wisconsin's U.S. Senate race.
Back when I was growing up in Milwaukee, my mom was a public school teacher, and my dad worked third shift at the General Motors plant.
Their example taught me the power of grassroots organizing. They showed me what is possible when everyday people come together to challenge the status quo.
I grew up in one of the most impoverished ZIP codes. My parents always taught me not to settle for what is – we must reach for what can be.
So I decided to run for U.S. Senate, and right now the polls show me tied with Ron Johnson. We can absolutely win this race, but it's going to take all of us in order to make it happen.
Wisconsin's Senate race could be the one that decides control of the Senate. The stakes have never been higher. But I know that if we build a powerful grassroots team, we are going to accomplish great things together.
If you believe in this campaign and are ready to defend the Democratic Senate majority, can I count on you to contribute today?
Please make a contribution to our campaign for U.S. Senate today. Together we are going to flip Wisconsin's Senate seat and defeat Ron Johnson.

It means a lot to me to know that you're a part of this team. I'll be in touch again soon.
