Our final discussions with several high-profile individuals are almost complete and we will make our announcement very soon. Meanwhile, please see the "Save the Date" card below and mark your calendars! Jay Republican Headquarters: 865 20th Place Vero Beach, FL 32960 Open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM Phone: 772-492-8394 “The representatives of the people, in a popular assembly, seem sometimes to fancy that they are the people themselves, and betray strong symptoms of impatience and disgust at the least sign of opposition from any other quarter; as if the exercise of its rights, by either the executive or judiciary, were a breach of their privilege and an outrage to their dignity.” Alexander Hamilton MORE THAN BUYER'S REMORSE Watch: Biden Voter Turns on Him on Fox News, Drops Brutal Truth Bomb on POTUS (westernjournal.com) RNC Censures Cheney, Kinzinger for Their Role on Jan. 6 Committee At its winter meeting last week, the Republican National Committee (RNC) voted to censure Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) and Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) for their roles on the controversial House Jan. 6 Committee. The resolution officially strips Cheney and Kinzinger of the support of the GOP and takes away their recognition as members of the Republican Party by the RNC. “The primary mission of the Republican Party is to elect Republicans who support the United States Constitution and share our values,” the RNC resolution says. “The Conference must not be sabotaged by Representatives Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger who have demonstrated, with actions and words, that they support Democrat efforts to destroy President Trump more than they support winning back a Republican majority in 2022,” it says further down. “Representatives Cheney and Kinzinger have engaged in actions in their positions as members of the January 6th Select Committee not befitting Republican members of Congress, which include the Committee’s disregard for minority rights, traditional checks and balances, due process, and adherence to other precedent and rules of the U.S. House and which seem intent on advancing a political agenda to buoy the Democrat Party’s bleak prospects in the upcoming midterm elections,” the resolution continues. “Representatives Cheney and Kinzinger purport to be members of the Republican Party,” the RNC said, but “Representatives Cheney and Kinzinger are participating in a Democrat-led persecution of ordinary citizens engaged in legitimate political discourse, and they are both utilizing their past professed political affiliation to mask Democrat abuse of prosecutorial power for partisan purposes. “Therefore, be it resolved that the Republican National Committee hereby formally censures Representatives Liz Cheney of Wyoming and Adam Kinzinger of Illinois and shall immediately cease any and all support of them as members of the Republican Party for their behavior which has been destructive to the institution of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Republican Party and our republic, and is inconsistent with the position of the Conference.” Trump has called the committee a “witch hunt,” and many lawmakers in the House and Senate have echoed the sentiment. GOVERNOR RON DESANTIS Law Enforcement Loves the GUV Florida’s finest continue to line up behind Governor Ron DeSantis’ re-election campaign, with the Republican governor netting his third major law enforcement endorsement. The Florida State Lodge Fraternal Order of Police announced it was backing DeSantis’ re-election bid. The Florida State FOP is the world’s largest organization of sworn law enforcement officers with over 364,000 worldwide members. The Florida State Lodge represents more than 23,000 law enforcement officers and ranks as the third-largest state lodge in America. He has earned an endorsement from 59 sheriffs across the state followed up by an endorsement by the Florida Police Chiefs Association. DeSantis also has the support of the Florida Police Benevolent Association (PBA), which was the first in line to back his re-election campaign. Fighting for Florida’s Resilient, Environmental Future Governor DeSantis went to Pinellas and Miami-Dade counties to announce more than $404 million for 113 environmental projects across the state through the Resilient Florida Grant Program. This money will help prepare coastal and inland communities for the impacts of flooding and storm surge. “Today’s record investment, as well as the projects included in the statewide plan for future funding, will strengthen our infrastructure to withstand the impacts of flooding and storm surge,” Governor DeSantis said. “For the first time ever, Florida has strategic coordination of statewide efforts to protect our coastal and inland infrastructure, and the dedicated funding to support these projects. This announcement is just the beginning. My administration will continue to support our communities’ resilience efforts across the state.” Read more: [link removed] The list of projects can be found here: [link removed] ATTORNEY GENERAL ASHLEY MOODY Florida Challenges Biden's Immigration Policy Attorney General Ashley Moody announced Florida is taking legal action against the Biden administration for ignoring federal immigration law as the out-of-control situation at the U.S. southwest border continues. The Attorney General filed an amended complaint challenging President Joe Biden’s latest unlawful immigration policy. Instead of commencing immigration court proceedings against illegal immigrants caught at the border, the federal government is releasing them into the interior without even starting the legal process for their removal. The federal government is calling this unlawful policy “Parole + Alternatives to Detention.” To view the amended complaint, click here. The amended complaint comes after shocking evidence uncovered dozens of adult male illegal immigrants brought to a U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement office, and then bussed to a nearby airport to be sent to their chosen destination inside the United States, including Miami according to news reports. “The Biden administration has not only consciously refused to enforce immigration laws, but it has also developed an operation to secretly resettle illegal aliens into communities across Florida and the rest of the United States,” said Governor Ron DeSantis. “They’re doing this in the dark of night without any coordination with states, without any background checks, and without any efforts to initiate the legal process for their removal. I am glad Attorney General Moody is continuing our fight to hold the Biden Administration accountable for its reckless disregard for immigration laws.” In September 2021, Florida filed a challenge to the Biden administration’s catch-and-release border practices that ignore federal law. According to federal law, arriving immigrants, including those claiming asylum, are required to be detained while immigration courts determine if there is a valid basis to enter the United States. As a result of this litigation, the federal government abandoned its “notice to report policy” — which media reports characterized as “immigration by the honor system.” But the “Parole + Alternatives to Detention” policy is yet another unlawful policy out the Biden administration. AG Moody Slams Democrat Authoritarianism and Biden’s Border Chaos Attorney General Ashley Moody was on Fox Business Wednesday to discuss the struggle between “nonsensical, misguided, misinformed” authoritarianism and the resulting pushback from parents and leaders. She said school COVID mandates are “all about control.” She also discussed Florida’s latest legal action against the Biden Administration to stop them from acting like a travel agency for illegal immigrants — who, because of the President’s terrible policies, are now essentially able to bill the American taxpayers for their travel expenses. Florida Legislative Session Goes Thru March 11 Life Update Senate Committee passes bill to prohibit abortions after 15 weeks On Wednesday, the Florida Senate Committee on Health Policy passed Senate Bill 146 on Fetal and Infant Mortality Reduction. Based on modern medical knowledge confirming significant developmental milestones of an unborn child by 15 weeks, the legislation prohibits abortion after that point. The legislation also increases health care and education resources available to pregnant mothers and women who may become pregnant with a focus on the prevention of fetal and infant death in Florida. “When Roe v. Wade was decided almost half a century ago, scientific knowledge of fetal development was very limited. We now know so much more about how a baby develops inside the mother’s womb. We also know that later-term abortions pose greater health risks to women,” said bill sponsor Senator Kelli Stargel. “Having once been a scared teenage mother myself, I understand the challenge and anguish of a woman facing an unplanned pregnancy, but I support life, and believe we have a duty to protect it. This bill safeguards innocent, unborn children with beating hearts, who can move, taste, see, feel pain, and whose lives should be protected under the laws of this state.” Florida Senate President Wilton Simpson added: “Abortion kills children and forever changes the life of the mother, the father, and the entire extended family. As an adoptive child myself, it’s always been important to me that we do everything we can to promote adoption as an alternative to abortion.” Stay up to date on the status of bills by using the bill tracker.
