Like us, you’ll probably never forget the former President of the United States asking his Vice President to overturn the results of a free and fair democratic election.
Now, over a year after he left office, Trump is doubling down on his claim that Mike Pence, as Vice President, had the ability to overturn the election results. The twice-impeached former President is attempting to create a dangerous precedent.
In our democracy, there should be no circumstance under which any person can override the will of the people. Although we think protecting the very fabric of our democracy is important, some Republicans don’t.
We need to ensure that what we saw last year never happens again.
