Current Georgia Republican Governor Brian Kemp enacted voter suppression laws so restrictive that it’s now illegal to hand out water in long voting lines in the state. He’s also the guy who bragged about using his pickup truck to "round up" undocumented immigrants.

Former Senator and Gubernatorial Candidate David Perdue is a Trump loyalist who admits he would have overturned Georgia’s election results in 2020 if he had been governor. Now, he’s suing the state over baseless election fraud claims to garner support from right-wing extremists.

But there’s still hope in Georgia. Democrat Stacey Abrams registered thousands of voters, mobilized Black and brown communities in Georgia and across the country, and fought against voter suppression through her grassroots movement.
