Dear John
We
wanted you to be the first to hear. Remember the four lions rescued from a
French circus? Forced to perform in front of noisy crowds – music blaring,
lights flashing, their only home a rusty trailer. Imagine how they suffered!
The generosity of our supporters in 2020
meant we successfully raised funds to move the four lions – rescued from
appalling conditions in a circus – from their temporary home in France.
But then, COVID hit and, like many of us, they’ve been endlessly waiting for
their real lives at our sanctuary in South Africa to begin, ever since. We
all know how lockdown has felt, so you can imagine their frustration. |

At
long last, the lions can now go to their Forever Home. Your gift today will
help give Angela, Bellone, Saïda and Louga the enriched, loving, care for life
they deserve. Every single lion matters!
Despite
all they’ve endured, they share a close bond at their temporary home at Tonga
Terre d’Accueil in France. Now your gift could give them a lifetime of love,
respect and a natural environment to roam – a far cry from the deprived life of
abuse left behind at the circus. With
travel restrictions lifted, the four will travel in special crates to South
Africa by lorry and plane, monitored at every stage. At Shamwari, they’ll enjoy
a three-acre grassy enclosure, with shady trees and dense undergrowth.
But,
we urgently need your help to look after them. Your donation today will help
buy essentials such as food and vitamins and provide loving care. It’s
heart-breaking to think how the lions suffered, waiting in lockdown as we all
have – their lives on hold. Sadly, they’ll always rely on us as they simply won't survive in the wild. But with your gift today
can help ensure the best care possible.
Warm
thanks,
Dr
