PFAW Member, In just TWO DAYS, the senate is scheduled to vote on one of Trump's most dangerous nominees, Steven Menashi. While cracks in his support even among Republicans are forming, we still need to keep up the pressure in order to let Republican senators know we are watching this vote closely. Activists and advocacy groups across the country are taking part in today's national day of action to STOP Steven Menashi's nomination and we need your signature! Republicans don't think voters are paying attention to the corrupt, narrow-minded extremists they are putting on the federal courts – well, they're wrong; and with your continued advocacy, we can make sure they know we're paying attention, and that we'll hold them accountable for their votes at the ballot box in the upcoming elections. Thanks for all that you do, – Zach, PFAW ----[previous message]---- PFAW Member, One of Trump's worst judicial nominees, Steven Menashi, was just passed out of the Senate Judiciary Committee on a party-line vote. Republicans reported him out DESPITE Menashi's deeply troubling record on LGBTQ+ equality, women's rights, the rights of lower-income families, immigrant rights, and respect for the Muslim community. Menashi's nomination may seem par for the course for the Trump administration and Republicans in the senate, but what is especially troubling about Menashi's nomination is the court which he'd sit on. The Second Circuit Court of Appeals is one of the nation's most influential courts – one that recently delivered a blow to Trump's attempt to shield his tax records from criminal investigations taking place in New York. It's no wonder that Trump would want one of his nominees to sit on that court! It was also just reported that Menashi helped to construct an ILLEGAL scheme at the U.S. Department of Education to deny any debt relief for thousands of students swindled by a for-profit college. In his plan, Menashi worked with Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos to illegally use the private Social Security data of defrauded borrowers. Thankfully, a federal judge rightfully ruled that this practice violated federal privacy laws and the practice has since been stopped. This is someone who is supposed to be a fair arbiter of the law?!? I don't think so. Menashi's nomination to serve on the court is an insult to millions of Americans across the country. It's clear that Trump and his Republican enablers in Congress want someone who will put the needs of the rich and powerful over the needs of everyday Americans. Tell the Senate to vote "NO" on Steven Menashi!>> Thank you, - Zach, PFAW
