This week, Donald Trump weighed into Ohio’s GOP Senate primary, encouraging one of the candidates to drop out of the race, presumably to pave the way for his hand-picked candidate.

The GOP primary has devolved into a battle of Republican candidates desperately vying for Trump’s endorsement, and HuffPost reports Josh Mandel is “willing to pretty much do anything” to secure Trump’s endorsement.

That’s why Mandel has focused his whole campaign on Trump, instead of Ohio voters. He's embraced Trump's “big lie” about the 2020 election, and attacks journalists, all to promote his own ambition.

And it could be working -- Mandel has been atop the polls in the GOP Primary.
