Susie grew up in a working-class family as one of eight kids. Her father was a military veteran who worked at a steel plant, and her mother had her hands full raising Susie and her siblings.

When she was young, both of her parents were denied health coverage because of pre-existing conditions. Her mom suffered a heart attack just one month before she qualified for Medicare, and her parents nearly lost their home as the medical bills piled up.

Susie knows how important it is to fight for issues like health care and child care because those issues impacted her family, too. She saw firsthand how hardworking families can only succeed when institutions uplift everyone – not just those at the top.

So when she first ran for Congress in the most competitive district in Nevada, her mission was to fight for all working families. And she won. But now, she's facing a tough reelection against the GOP and its megadonor allies – who are prepared to spend whatever it takes to flip the House red in November.

That's why I promised Susie that this team could raise $15,000 by midnight tonight to help her fight back.
