Working Families Party

I’m so happy, John. Chesa Boudin was just elected to serve as the next District Attorney of San Francisco.

The Democratic machine and police unions were stacked against us — spending hundreds of thousands to anoint their preferred candidate. But together, we proved that when we fight, we can overcome any odds. And now Chesa has the ability to enact his progressive vision for San Francisco.

From Larry Krasner to Chesa Boudin, WFP’s work to elect progressive prosecutors and DAs has been a powerful force. But we still have a lot of work ahead of us, so today:

I’m asking you to make a $3 donation to help myself and the Working Families Party elect even more reformers to DA offices across the country. Your support will allow us to grow our team, and keep this momentum going.

I was so excited that Chesa was one of WFP’s endorsements this cycle, because truthfully, I see a lot of myself in him.

He’s a public defender, like me. And for decades, he’s been a first-hand witness to the brutality of a systemically-racist criminal justice system. That’s what inspired me to run for office in the first place, and it’s what inspired Chesa to run as well.

Now he’s in a unique position to repair so much damage, and help transform his city so that communities of color no longer have to live in fear of a system that’s meant to ensure safety and justice for all communities.

This is a tremendous victory — one that I am determined to build on and spread all across the country. But I can’t do it alone. It’s going to take all of us to make it happen, just like it took an entire community rallying around Chesa to win in San Francisco.

Donate $3 today to support our new and crucial campaigns to elect reform-minded District Attorneys in 2020. We have a lot of fantastic candidates to elect. Can I count on you?

I know that the number one way to transform our country and end mass incarceration is through relentless grassroots organizing in the communities that’ve been harmed the most by systemic oppression.

This win in San Francisco is a great start. Now let’s keep it up.

Solidarity forever,
