I’m no stranger to tough fights, friend.
When I became Chief of Staff to President Obama’s auto task force, I kept hearing the same thing over and over again: “Let Detroit go bankrupt” and “You’ll never save those jobs.”
But we got organized, fought back, and ended up saving two million jobs in the auto industry – 200,000 of which were right here in Michigan.
While I loved working for the auto industry, I wanted to do more. I felt that I could make an even bigger impact, and do great things for my community. The decision I made to run for public office in 2017 ended up being one of the best decisions of my life.
Don’t get me wrong, campaigning was never easy. From the minute I announced my campaign, skeptics doubted my ability to flip MI-11 blue. National Republicans spent millions against me. But I never gave up, and thanks to your support, I became the first Democrat elected to the district in nearly 100 years.
I’ve loved every second serving as MI-11’s representative, which is why I’m running for re-election in 2022. I’m in for another tough race, but my work for the people of MI-11 is far from over.
Today, I’m asking if you will pitch in $25 or more to help our grassroots team meet our February goal. I would greatly appreciate any amount of support you can provide.
Thank you for being in this with me.
