Today is the 6th, and I thought it would be a good opportunity to ask you to chip in $6 to defend our district, IL-06.
And, before you can say it – yes, I know that this is a fundraising gimmick. But, there are a few things you should know:
- House Republicans just announced raising $140 million for 2021. That’s not even the worst of it, either. The same House Republicans who objected to the 2020 presidential election results are now raising the most money for their re-election campaigns. We can’t let insurrectionists return to Congress for another term.
- I’m one of the most vulnerable Democrats up for re-election. The lines for IL-06 were redrawn and with that came a new set of challenges. I’ll now have to run a primary race in order to make it to the general election in November – and I’m going to need your help to get me there.
- My seat is crucial to maintaining our slim Democratic House Majority. Not to mention, it’s crucial for making progress on creating a green economy and providing affordable healthcare for all.
Asking you for $6 on the 6th may be a silly gimmick, but the reasons to chip in couldn’t be more serious.
Online donations are critical to ensuring we have the resources to hire staff, train volunteers, and build out the grassroots organizing operation we need to win – so today, will you chip in $6 to keep IL-06 BLUE?
