John,
Today, Republican Superintendent of Public Instruction Mark Johnson entered the race for Lt. Governor. This is the same Mark Johnson who called beginning teacher pay “good money” - even when it has been among the lowest in the nation - and unilaterally awarded a multi-million dollar contract to a private company that has failed to improve our students’ ability to read.
It’s clear that Johnson hasn’t done enough for North Carolina students and teachers alike. Now, he wants to become the potential tie-breaking vote in the State Senate.
Mark Johnson has been failing our students and teachers and we can’t let him take the Lt. Governor’s seat. Can you rush in your contribution today?
We need leaders who understand the challenges working North Carolina families face. I have seen the transformative power of education in my own life, going from the Free and Reduced Lunch program to Harvard and Georgetown Law. I owe my success to a mom who worked two and sometimes three jobs - and to the dedicated teachers who collected money for me to go to college and pushed me to my fullest potential.
I was able to succeed because of a community that believed in me. I want the same for you, for your family, and for every person in our state.
Can we count on you to donate $100, $50, or even $10 today? We can’t do it alone. We need you today.
Thanks,
Chaz
