This month, we uplift, honor, recognize and celebrate the history and lives of Black Americans — but we must be centering that focus every day in our work year-round, not just the shortest month of the year.

That’s why I’m asking if you’ll split a contribution between the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Movement for Black Lives, and the NAACP Kings & Tulare County. 100% of your contribution will go directly to the important work these organizations do to advance racial justice every single day.

When we talk about the history of Black Americans, we also must recognize and focus on the consistent and systematic ways in which Black people have been denied access and equity.

When I talk about fighting against racial and economic disparities, it’s because these gaps are all too real.

Politicians shouldn’t say empty words about celebrating this month and then work to keep suppressing the votes of Black people, stopping legislation that would help Black families who have been disproportionately targeted by a system never set up to welcome them in the first place, and talking about banning the discussion of the very real history our country in schools.

I know I have work to do in my own journey of anti-racism and that words mean little without action.

That’s why I wanted to include a simple action that you can take to help support national and local Black-led efforts to advance racial justice — while acknowledging that this should not be reserved for just one month out of the year.

Please join me in supporting the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Movement for Black Lives, and the NAACP Kings & Tulare County today and help power the crucial efforts of these organizations! 100% of your contribution goes directly to their work.

Thank you,

Bruno
