John,
It’s up to us to ensure millions of children and families don’t miss out on their 2021 Child Tax Credit payments.
Last year, when Congress passed an expanded version of the Child Tax Credit, it (for the first time) included millions of low- and no-income families who did not traditionally receive this financial help. In Senator Joe Manchin’s home state alone, this lifted 50,000 children above the poverty line.
But, because of obstruction by Joe Manchin―and every single Republican senator―the monthly CTC payments stopped in January.
We are fighting for the continuation of these monthly payments. But millions of families are still owed all of their 2021 Child Tax Credit. Not everyone knows they are eligible, or that they must file a tax return in order to receive it. CHN is launching a digital ad campaign to reach millions of low- and no-income families with the resources they need to file a tax return, with free tax prep assistance, and receive their full 2021 Child Tax Credit payment.
Can you pitch in today to fund our digital ad campaign and lift millions of children above the poverty line?

Thank you for all that you do for low income children and families whose lives were made a little easier in 2021 thanks to the expanded CTC. And thank you for fighting to demand the U.S. Senate expand this critical program through at least 2022.

John,
Did you know that millions of children and families could miss out on the expanded Child Tax Credit payment this year?
Most families with children will receive a lump sum CTC payment when they file their tax returns. And the good news now is that the 2021 expanded CTC is available to millions more people than ever before.
It’s available to families with low- and no-incomes who aren’t normally required to file a tax return. This means that if a low-income family doesn’t file their tax return this year, they will miss out on thousands of dollars of critical support that kept millions of children out of poverty last year.
CHN is launching a campaign to help people with low incomes file their tax returns. We need to run digital ads to reach millions of people with information on how to receive their Child Tax Credit payments, and how to take action and demand our senators pass an extension of the expanded Child Tax Credit, so these benefits do not expire after only one year.
Can you help us get our digital ads running, and help millions of people access their expanded Child Tax Credit payments? Last year, these payments helped families afford healthy food, housing, winter coats, enrichment programs for kids and more. Donate today!

Between July and December of last year, families were receiving monthly payments between $250 and $300 per child. But those payments stopped in January as the Senate failed to extend the expanded Child Tax Credit. That means a full half-year of payments is still available to families with young children, if they file a tax return. And some families with the lowest incomes never found out about the monthly payments, so they can get the full amount―$3,000 - $3,600 per child―but only if they file a tax form.
We need to bring these resources to millions of low- and no-income families to ensure every single American who is eligible to receive their payments does.
And, we need to keep fighting to demand the U.S. Senate pass at least a one-year extension of the expanded Child Tax Credit, just as the U.S. House did.
Donate today to power our digital ads and ensure that millions of children and families receive their expanded Child Tax Credit payments, which have lifted millions out of poverty.
