John,
Billionaires got $2.1 trillion―an astonishing 70%―wealthier during the pandemic, according to Americans for Tax Fairness research of Forbes data.[1] Now, a new ATF report reveals how America’s wealthiest families are estimated to pass along $21 trillion(!!!) to their heirs over the next two decades.
Due to enormous estate tax loopholes, this hoarding of wealth could allow them to avoid $8.4 trillion in estate and gift taxes.
The richest families are taking advantage of tax loopholes that have been written into law by clever tax lawyers and members of Congress, which grow dynastic wealth while starving the United States of critical tax revenue that could pay for everything from education to healthcare to housing and more.
Thankfully, we have champions in Congress on our side:

John,
America’s wealthiest family dynasties―like the Waltons and Kochs―are set to pass $21 trillion on to their heirs over the next two decades virtually tax free, according to a new report from Americans for Tax Fairness. Due to tax loopholes they could dodge $8.4 TRILLION in estate and gift taxes.
They’re hoarding historic levels of untaxed wealth, while we’re told that we “can’t afford” critical programs like paid leave, universal preschool and the expanded Child Tax Credit. In fact, just half of the $8.4 trillion these dynastic families may avoid in taxes could pay for 24 years of the expanded Child Tax Credit, which is benefiting more than 60 million children and last year reduced childhood poverty by nearly 40%.
Americans for Tax Fairness is fighting alongside our champions in Congress such as Senators Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren to close tax loopholes abused by the richest 1%.
Can you donate $5 today to pass critically needed reforms to the estate and gift taxes and ensure America’s richest families start paying their fair share?
Just look at this tweet by Rep. Jimmy Gomez, who is the lead sponsor of a companion bill introduced by Bernie Sanders in the Senate to close estate tax loopholes described in the ATF report:
Since 2000, estate taxes paid have dropped from $24.4 billion to just $9.3 billion―and have declined by half since the 2017 Trump-GOP tax scam. We can build an economy that works for all of us, but only when the wealthiest pay their fair share!
Donate $5 today to fight to close estate tax and gift tax loopholes that are allowing America’s wealthiest families to avoid paying an estimated $8.4 TRILLION in taxes in coming years.
