70%

More than 70 percent of Ukraine’s land is dedicated to agriculture and the country is the fifth-largest global exporter of wheat. 25 Mt

China is the largest producer of hydrogen today, at about 25 million tons (Mt), or roughly a quarter of the global total. Most of the volume is produced from fossil fuels as feedstocks in refineries or chemical facilities. However, China is increasingly exploring cultivating the production and consumption of lower-emission hydrogen to help meet energy needs and spur industrial development while also addressing climate concerns.

82%

Between 2010 and 2019 in Africa, the cost of utility-scale solar photovoltaics decreased 82 percent, while the cost of wind fell 50–60 percent—demonstrating the opportunity for countries in Africa to leapfrog over carbon-intensive energy sources that lock economies into a soon-to-be outdated system built around carbon and extraction.
