Last week, the January 6 Committee moved toward issuing more subpoenas – but who they want to speak to will raise your eyebrows:

According to the committee, Trump supporters submitted fake Electoral College certificates claiming he won in various battleground states that President Biden had actually won.

Team, we can’t say that we’re shocked. This is just more evidence that Trump and those around him were intent on overturning the 2020 presidential election, while completely disregarding our democracy as we know it.

Holding “alternate electors” accountable is an encouraging sign from Future Forum members Pete Aguilar (CA-31) and Stephanie Murphy (FL-07), and the rest of the January 6 Committee. But with Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy fixated on nixing the committee if Republicans take the House this year, their work could be left unfinished. Will you chip in $10 or more today and ensure the committee leaves no stone unturned?

If the GOP were to take the House back in November and shut down the committee, we would lose one of our most important safeguards against Republicans like Kevin McCarthy, another Trump crony who has no regard for our democratic institutions.
