John,
You can feel it in the air. A new spirit of labor standing up and striking has been permeating our nation throughout this past fall and winter.
The final months of 2021 saw a record number of workers leave their jobs for greener pastures. While this mass exodus was happening, tens of thousands of workers went on strike at John Deere, Frito-Lay, Volvo, Kellogg’s, Frontier, NYU, Harvard and Columbia. From the coal mines of Alabama to the Hospitals of the Pacific Northwest, working people are fed up.
This morning I stopped by the Starbucks in Callowhill, a neighborhood in Philadelphia, to support their staff as they make their own efforts to unionize.
