John,
Hank and Senator Jon Ossoff are leading the Georgia Democratic Congressional Delegation in their push to expand public transit across Georgia.
Last week, they sent a letter to the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) urging them to maximize resources provided by the bipartisan infrastructure law to improve public transit throughout the state. Expanding access to public transportation is good for the environment, increases economic equity, and even improves community health.
Friends, when the entire Georgia Democratic Congressional Delegation rallied to pass President Biden’s infrastructure bill, they did so to provide every American with the resources they need to improve their day-to-day lives.
Improving our infrastructure is not just about roads and bridges. It’s also about expanding public transit that connects people to jobs, doctors, grocery stores and community resources — people shouldn’t have to drive cars to enjoy a high quality of life.
