I believe that the January 6th insurrection is a stain on our democracy. I also believe that those who spread the lies that led to the insurrection are unfit to hold public office.
We already know what Donald Trump thinks. On January 6th, he tweeted that the insurrectionists were heroes.
Mere days ago, he said he might pardon insurrectionists if he were to become President again in 2024.
And now, MLIVE is reporting that Donald Trump is putting his money where his mouth is. According to the news report, Donald Trump has donated to more than a dozen Michigan candidates who've helped him spread the “big lie” that fueled the insurrection. That means he's made more contributions to Michigan candidates than he has to candidates in every other state but Texas.

By supporting candidates who are willing to lie and do his bidding, Donald Trump thinks he's improving his chances of winning Michigan when he runs for President in 2024.
It's the same reckless, anti-democratic behavior that led to violence on January 6th. For the future of our state and our country, we have to make sure Democrats win so we can stop Donald Trump from using the 2022 midterms to rig the system ahead of his next Presidential campaign.
