- A North Carolina Supreme Court with its head on straight.
- People-powered organizations like ours and so many others in our state that are fighting for everyone’s voices to be heard.
- A state constitution that guarantees free elections, speech, and assembly.
We can't take this for granted. Repeat: we cannot take any of this for granted. Our state is famous for bad maps.
Make no mistake: if we didn’t have an N.C. Supreme Court we can count on, the bad maps would still be in play – maps that intentionally cracked Democratic Congresswoman Kathy Manning’s district, which includes an HBCU, into three districts.
