Dear John,

Join the Arlington Young Dems for our July New Members Happy Hour tomorrow, July 17th featuring New Member Bingo as a way to get to know each other and the AYD board.

Our monthly happy hours are a great opportunity to meet new people, learn how to get involved, and/or just grab a drink and catch up with fellow young Dems! Everyone is welcome.

This month’s happy hour will take place June 17th at 6:30 pm at La Finca, located on 3227 Washington Boulevard, Arlington, VA. There is street parking available nearby and it's just a short walk from the Clarendon Metro Station.

Check out and RSVP to the Facebook event here ([link removed]) !

We hope to see you there!

Who is the Mayor of Arlington? If you're wondering the answer to this question, join us on Tuesday, July 23rd for a conversation about the Arlington County government! A surprise preview: We don't even have a mayor!
Local politics can be confusing and often is left behind when we discuss so many issues of national importance, but ultimately real change in our communities can start right here in our County. We'll be joined by elected officials from Arlington to talk about how the government works, how you can get involved, and why it matters that we continue to elect Democrats at all levels of government.

The meeting will be July 23rd at 7 pm in the Central Library auditorium, a short walk from the Ballston or Virginia Square metro stations. Free parking is also available.

The Arlington Young Democrats, in partnership with Equality Virginia, call on members and allies to volunteer for this important Equality Means Business campaign during Pride Month, which seeks to find local businesses willing to pledge that they will not discriminate against their employees or customers who are members of the LGBTQ community!

Our Arlington community is one of the bluest in the Commonwealth, and it’s time we start living our values through our businesses. But we need help getting the word out!

Volunteer to help AYD contact local businesses in Arlington (in person or by phone) to tell them about this important campaign and help them join! We will provide all volunteers with a sample script to get you started. Sign-up here ([link removed]) !

Volunteer at the Arlington County Fair!
You can help turn Virginia BLUE while having fun doing a shift (or two) at the Arlington County Fair! Come out and volunteer at the jointly sponsored Arlington Democrats and Arlington Young Democrats booth where you'll hang out with fellow Dems, register voters, and tell them about the 2019 election cycle!!

But wait! There's more! You can also enjoy the rides, contests, and tasty treats that make the County Fair so much fun each year! Volunteers are needed August 15 - August 18 to help with setting up, staffing, and packing away the booth. Shifts last around 2 hours, with 4-5 people needed per shift. Sign up today!

Want to help elect Democrats in less than an hour a month? We're recruiting Arlingtonians who live in apartment and condo complexes to serve as building ambassadors. You'll arrange voter registration events, remind your neighbors about upcoming elections and welcome candidates to visit.

Being a building ambassador is easy and fun! Many of our ambassadors find it a great way to meet their neighbors. Arlington Democrats will provide you with all the help that you need.
