Fellow Conservative,
The House and Senate were in session this week, and state legislatures across the country considered important education and election integrity bills.
House Democrats passed their version of a China bill, which is nothing more than a liberal wishlist that does nothing to combat China. More on that later…
Jessica talks CRT on Fox & Friends
Executive Director Jessica Anderson joined Fox & Friends this week to discuss the critical race theory (CRT) curriculum Heritage Action uncovered <[link removed]> in Georgia’s largest school district, and the legislation we’re backing.

A special thanks to parent Sheri Mitchell for also joining to give a Georgian’s perspective on the impact of CRT on students. Parents know this garbage is being taught to their children, but it can be difficult to root out of the schools.
It’s why Georgians are lining up behind bills like H.B. 888 <[link removed]>, which will give parents access to the curriculum being taught to their children while making it illegal for schools to treat children differently based on their race or ethnicity.
Removing CRT from the classroom is about creating a healthy learning environment where all kids are treated as individuals and judged based on the content of their character.

House Passes Pelosi’s Sham China Bill
On Friday, the House voted 222-210 <[link removed]> to pass Pelosi’s warped “America COMPETES Act.” This is a $320 billion corporate-welfare bill and it is disgustingly soft on China.
For instance, it establishes a new visa program which allows wealthy foreigners—including Chinese nationals—to purchase visas. Heritage Action sounded the alarm on this provision and Fox News covered the story <[link removed]>.
For this and many other reasons, we’ve dubbed this bill the “America CONCEDES Act.”
In another troubling provision, Pelosi gives away $50 billion in taxpayer dollars to the semiconductor industry, but sets ZERO guide rails to prevent them from spending that money IN CHINA.
There’s hundreds of billions in additional spending, much of it pulled from Democrats’ “Green New Deal” and “Build Back Better” spending plans. See a more detailed list <[link removed]>.
In reality, Pelosi and the Democrats’ China bill is a sham.
It’s not meant to seriously address the threat America faces from the CCP. The bill is only intended to advance far-Left policies Democrats have long wanted to implement.
What comes next: The Senate passed a VERY different version of this bill (which lacked a lot of Pelosi’s “pet progressive policies”). So a conference committee between the Senate and the House will be needed to iron out some major policy differences. We’re staying vigilant and will keep you updated.
Action in the States
In 2022, Heritage Action is directing even more resources into legislative battles at the state level.
We’re continuing to back election integrity legislation across the country. Nothing is more important than securing our elections and making it easy to vote and hard to cheat
And we’ve expanded our efforts to pass education reform. To start, we’re backing legislation like H.B. 888 <[link removed]> in Georgia to increase transparency in schools and to prevent racial essentialism and discrimination in the classroom.
One of the ways we’re getting involved is by delivering testimony in state legislatures on behalf of you:

>>>AND Check Out: <[link removed]> Regional Coordinator Karen Jaroch speaks to Florida lawmakers on policies they can implement to increase election integrity
Regional coordinators are a great asset for our Sentinel Activists and help coordinate grassroot efforts within the states. If you’d like to get more involved and work with a regional coordinator, like Nathan or Karen, join Sentinel today <[link removed]>.
Spending Deadline: February 18
Back in December, Congress passed a Continuing Resolution (CR) that kept the government funded with Trump-era spending policies through February 18, 2022.
Ideally, with Pelosi and Schumer in control of Congress, the best outcome would be another, long term CR that will continue to fund the government with Trump-era spending policies. For instance, a CR would ensure that federal dollars aren’t used to pay for abortions.
Stay vigilant, as Democrats will likely try to pass an omnibus measure which would rewrite the government’s spending policies towards their Leftist priorities. They’ll use this as yet another opportunity to sneak in progressive “Green New Deal” and “Build Back Better” policies.
One Last Thing
We celebrated when Biden’s OSHA mandate was defeated at the Supreme Court.
But we can’t forget that millions of our fellow Americans are still living under oppressive state, city, and even school district mandates.
Just five blocks from Heritage Action HQ, one business owner made a stand and put it all on the line. Big Board owner Eric Flannery refused to segregate and turn away unvaccinated customers, and so the D.C. city government shut him down.
Our friends over at The Daily Signal covered the story <[link removed]>, and we’d encourage you to spend two-minutes and watch.

Clearly, our work together is not done. America will always need dedicated patriots.
